HARAMBEE

( , Ha : Ra : M ‘ Bei )

Harambee is our work philosophy that promotes unity, inclusion, cooperation, and democratic participation.

It is Kenya’s national motto and a Kiswahili word that means pulling together. Its philosophy encourages everyone to work together as a team to better their community. It represents an unwritten law of generosity regardless of class, ethnic group, gender, or religious background encouraging everyone to lend a hand to help one another.

By incorporating these principles into our work we strengthen our teams, increase development, share education, and foster a sense of unity for the present and, more importantly, for the future.

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them!

– Jomo Kenyatta: The Father Of Harambee 1963
